Carmichael Build and Story Design Collective bring a fresh take on designing by the coast with their contemporary all-black Queensland home.

Carmichael Build的共同创始人 Nicquel和Sam Carmichael，以及Story Design的室内设计团队协力合作，联合打造Queensland棕榈滩的一栋两层的家庭住宅的全屋设计。

Carmichael Build‘s co-founders Nicquel and Sam Carmichael and interior designers Story Design Collective have gone against the grain in their most recent project, a two-storey family home in Palm Beach, Queensland, designed for entertaining.

其设计打破常规，理性而清冷的暗调黑色贯穿始终，生动演绎了高级冷淡风的独有魅力。

The design breaks the rules. The logical and cool black is everywhere, vividly showing the unique charmness of the Normcore.

02|入口玄关

Nicquel认为，这座房子既神秘莫测又喜怒无常，既圆滑世俗又精致无暇。她旋即又道：“如果处理得当，黑色可以散发复杂而诱人的魅力。

According to Nicquel, the home was to be simultaneously mysterious and moody – yet sleek and refined. “When done right, black can be sophisticated and alluring,” Nicquel says.

她补充道：“这既体现了一种力量与勇气，也彰显了一种随性与慵懒。在风水学中，黑色代表水元素，象征平静和深度。”。设计团队认为，设计一个暗黑系住宅需要考虑房屋开口和建筑外观，以捕捉灿烂的阳光和轻柔的海风。

“It is a statement of strength and boldness but also one of comfort. In Feng Shui, black represents the water element and symbolises calmness and depth,” she adds. The design team knew that designing an all-black home required considered openings and tailored outlooks to capture the sun, light and sea breeze.

03|客厅

在起居空间的主体位置，天花板上悬挂有一暗黑圆润的壁炉室内设计，内置充足木材。其竖向的纵深度与相邻元素的横向线性感形成对比，增强了视觉趣味性，突显了开放式空间的设计重点。

A suspended wood-burning fireplace in the living area contrasts the linear nature of the home, adding visual interest and a design focal point in the open-plan space.

起居空间还包括一个客房套间和一个家庭办公空间，可以与其他空间完全隔绝。

The first storey also includes a guest suite and designated home office that can be entirely shut from the rest of the home.

Nicquel补充道：“流感疾病的流行促使上班族转为家庭办公，而这个办公空间经过设计，极利于提高工作效率，保护工作隐私。”。

“The pandemic drove a massive shift towards working from – this crucial room has been designed to facilitate productivity and privacy,” Nicquel adds.

Nicquel says the kitchen appliances were essential to an entertainer’s lifestyle. “The bold and sleek design of the Gaggenau 200 series appliances coupled with the quality and craftsmanship of the brand made it an easy decision,” Nicquel admits.

“烤箱是精密构造与实用功能的完美平衡。在这个暗调深邃的单色空间中，Gaggenau 200系列烤箱和200系列combi蒸汽烤箱，着实天生一对。

“The ovens are the perfect architectural statement balanced with immense functionality.” The Gaggenau 200 series oven and 200 series combi-steam oven in anthracite are a natural fit in the monochrome kitchen, set within blackened timber veneer joinery.

05|餐厅

餐厅的全高堆垛门（Nicquel称之为家庭的“枢纽”）隐匿于深木天花板中，无缝过渡到露台和游泳池等室外空间，另配有内独置烧烤和凹陷的火坑。“这些门可以双向开启，可以随意搭配、灵活组合，”Nicquel补充道。

Full-height stacker doors in the dining room – what Nicquel refers to as the ‘hub’ of the home – recede into the charred timber ceiling and seamlessly transition onto the outdoor terrace and pool, complete with a built-in barbecue and sunken fire pit. “These doors open in both directions and allow multiple configurations of the spaces,” Nicquel adds.

娱乐、烹饪、谈话和就餐是餐厅设计的核心。在这里，一张约3米的黑色长桌，搭配8张黑色方形椅，与天花板上的焦色木材融为一体。

Entertainment, cooking and sharing meaningful conversations and meals with friends are at the heart of the dining room design. Here, a three-meter black table, equipped with eight black chairs , wrapped in linear timber panelling reminiscent of the charred timber ceiling above.

隐藏的餐具室位于主厨房立面后，其门通向室外的厨房，给客户提供流线型的烹饪体验。

A concealed butler’s pantry lies tucked behind the main kitchen facade, with a door leading to the outdoor kitchen for a streamlined cooking experience.

06|卧室

卧室空间仍以暗调色系串联空间。深灰色布艺被套，深棕色线条纹床头柜，外加深灰调墙面，使空间幽暗，深邃，旷远。局部点缀明黄色枕套，白色磨砂感挂钩及暖灰条纹花瓶。几株暖棕色花枝摇曳生姿，静生幽香。

The bedroom is still using the dark colors to bring the rooms together. The dark grey beddings, brown lined bed table, with grey walls, making the space silent, deep and calm. The rest is decorated with warm yellow pillows, white hook and grey lined vase. Several branches of brown flowers are beautifully-shaped, dispersing elegant scent.

黑色的家似乎在反差鲜明的绿色植物上“盘旋”。

The black home appears as though it’s ‘hovering’ over the contrasting greenery.
